Auks (Montreal)

Led by David Kunstatter, AUKS is a project born mid-2013 that draws on both the new-wave sound of the '80s and the influence of the dark and sweaty rock corners of Montreal. Angular guitars, danceable riffs, synth and Farfisa almost dabbing in garage-à-gogo repertoire, sassy drum rhythms, sax lines that makes you forget the cheesy sound that it’s generally associated with, and a dirty gritty ambiance without being too lo - fi. Dark texts inspired by human nature and its ugliness coupled with melodies that make you want to forget all of this with a certain detachment and make you wish to dance the night away. AUKS is ultimately a story of contrasts.

Ghost Twin (Winnipeg)

Ghost Twin is a dark electronic dance collaboration between filmmakers/musicians Karen and Jaimz Asmundson from Winnipeg, Canada. They combine roaring synthlines, dirty pulsing bass, dreamy guitar, and a haunting vocal dichotomy where Baroque meets Industrial, with live video percussion that feeds cinema through a cut-up technique imbued with occult aesthetics.

Their audio/visual performance creates a full sensory evocative narrative of shadowy haunted rooms occupied by astral phantasms and electronic voices from beyond the aether.
