You might think that after playing in bands for over a decade and a half, touring constantly in shitty vans to small towns you’ve never heard of, might instill the desire to make your new project, I don’t know, a lucrative one. Molding their creative output to something that sells, for whatever reason, never really crossed the minds of the four members of Quest For Fire, however. The sonic assault that these guys unleash onto unsuspecting listeners in a live setting through their sometimes 10+ minute journeys can either send the faint of heart running, holding onto their hats, or lift their minds and souls to levels normally only achieved by ingesting far too many illegal substances that we here at Storyboard know nothing about. Fortunately for all of us, the majority falls into the latter.

Burning Love started in 2007 as a side project to the bands Cursed and Our Father, respectively. The idea was, despite their large differences of age, generation and frame of reference, to channel their varied favorites (from Black Flag and Hot Snakes to Kyuss or Turbonegro) and make some loud and riff driven punk songs that were creatively different than either of their previous bands, and to challenge themselves and their fans by striking out in a different musical and aesthetic direction.b

"Tout simplement  du rock psychédélique avec un air de Black Sabbath. Leur album sortira sur Tee Pee Records en octobre. C’était trop facile de penser à de la musique indienne…" -- sc

Beyond the conceptual language structure created by mankind, the definition of the name lies in internal rhythm, the internal sound that a man experiences. Those who embrace Naam have the key to the door of mysteries and miracles, as Naam exists in the Divine plane and shines through to the Physical plane, bringing healing and self-renewal.

Metal / Punk / Shoegaze

"Brooklyn's ELKS are on to something... a ripping set of punk-y garage inflected metal" -Brooklyn Vegan

"Somewhere at the crossroads of punk, metal, sludge, garage, and a beer-soaked bag of 12-sided die lie Brooklyn chug-monsters ELKS. Much like contemporaries High On Fire or Coliseum, the band is at once majestic and rollicking, matching fantastic, orc-stabbing melodies with a friendly, mastodonic gallop" -Village Voice

First show for this wizard. Expect some wild wild stuff from Jordan Robson Cramer of Sunset Rubdown, Miracle Fortress and Ancient Kids fame. - nb

East coast connections bro. Give em a listen. Please. - nb

Big Beat / Pop / Rock

Trio de power-pop montréalais aux influences très années 90 à la Pavement et Guided by Voice, Reversing Falls diffuse des hymnes pop-punk lo-fi qui s’inscrivent à merveille dans le paysage musical contemporain. -- pl

Indie / Pop

Born in Montréal at the same moment as orchestral indie pop, PARLOVR couldn’t be further from the sweeping sounds of brass, strings and woodwinds. This trio’s trademark: good time rock, loud and catchy melodies and sing-along choruses. -- ca
