The band collected and created recordings of different sound sources - mostly instruments like drums, bass, guitar vibraphone, and marimbaphone. They then recorded these instruments in unusual ways, 'microrecording' the sound sources through synthesizer patches. After recording and processing, Radian carefully arranged these electronics to work within their performances on live instruments.

The new opus from the Montreal quartet documents the recent years of the band, a collection of songs compiled over time marking the end of a chapter and the beginning of a new one. A distinguished sound influenced by indie, math and post-rock, just like Mia Verko showed us in the past, but with more maturity.

Emilie et Manu sont nés dans la musique, Émilie avec cordes vocales accordées et Manu des mains pour bidouiller. Ils ont eu le coup de foudre l’un pour l’autre alors que leurs épées faisaient Kling Klang dans un club d'escrime de Montréal. Avec leur rencontre, Onomatops prend vie : un collage de textes, de sons, de Lalala et de pouf paf . Ensemble, ils cousent des œuvres urbaines, sensuelles, sale...s, funky, libres. Mais à leur rupture, la musique tombe dans un coma...
