Ce groupe à été formé en juillet 2009, par Adam Nanji, Andrea Lo et Alex Andrew. Depuis, ils ont 4 nouveaux musiciens et se promènent entre Vancouver et Montréal offrant de belle performances un peu partout. Même si on peut les comparer à The Shins, Feist, Wilco, Ohbijou, Stars, Andrew Bird... Ils ont un son bien à eux, et deux magnifiques voix.

Our trumpet blows and flutters over you, acoustic guitars send shimmering notes into you. Our voices tempt you with lilting, whimsical melodies. A violin’s bow draws you back in time. You smile and begin to move with the people around you, closing your eyes as rainclouds begin to gather. You get lost in hints of orchestral pop, touches of alt-country and indie rock. We pound frenetic rhythms for you; boys and girls all drumming together–gleaming, spirited and handsome. You sing and clap along as the rain falls heavily and the air turns cool. We make you move faster, everybody moving, staying warm together.

La présence live de Bent By Elephants, bourré de pleinitude et d'un souffle acoustique indéniable, est créée par six (parfois sept) musiciens douées dont les multiples influences nous entraînent dans un folk rythmique, avec de chaleureuse harminies blues et de multiples couches orchestrales.
